SSS Defence has introduced the T12, a new 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun developed for military and security applications. The gas-operated, magazine-fed platform features a rare drop-in trigger system, described as a distinctive capability in the military shotgun category. It is built with a 20-inch nitrided barrel for durability and corrosion resistance, while the upper and lower receivers are machined from 7075 T6 aluminum to combine strength with reduced weight. The shotgun includes ambidextrous controls and a multi-position buttstock with cheek rest for adaptable ergonomics. The T12 was developed with counter-unmanned aerial system missions in mind, using specialized ammunition to engage low-flying drones. At the same time, it remains suitable for conventional tactical tasks such as close-quarters combat, breaching, and perimeter defense. This multi-role flexibility may appeal to military, paramilitary, and special operations users. SSS Defence says the shotgun also shares many components with other weapons in its portfolio, simplifying maintenance and logistics. Future variants, including suppressed versions, are already under development to broaden operational use.
