L3Harris will enhance the US Marine Corps’ SATCOM capabilities under a new order covering Panther 2 terminals and Ku-band transceivers. The upgrades boost power output and enable use across multiple satellite orbits, improving mobility and supporting Joint All-Domain Command and Control goals. Panther 2, a lightweight tri-band backpack SATCOM system, offers fast setup, modular design, and quiet, passively cooled operation. Its components allow operators to switch antennas or frequency bands as needed. The initiative falls under the MCWS-X program, aimed at providing expeditionary units with reliable, flexible wideband communications for voice, video, and data in contested environments.
