India’s future air-defence doctrine is increasingly focused on countering mass drone attacks through a combination of kinetic and non-kinetic technologies. Systems such as the Bhargavastra micro-missile interceptor, advanced laser weapons, and upgraded gun-based air-defence platforms are being integrated into a unified network supported by IACCS. Artificial intelligence and automated battle-management systems are expected to play a critical role in identifying, prioritizing, and neutralizing large numbers of aerial threats in real time, ensuring sustainable and effective protection of critical assets.
