Malaysia has signed an agreement with KNDS for the acquisition of 18 CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems, becoming the fifteenth country to adopt the wheeled howitzer. The contract, finalized at Eurosatory 2026, includes technology transfer and local assembly arrangements designed to strengthen Malaysia’s defense-industrial capabilities. Mounted on a highly mobile wheeled chassis, the CAESAR combines rapid deployment with long-range firepower, capable of firing six rounds in under a minute at distances of up to 40 kilometers. The procurement supports Kuala Lumpur’s ongoing artillery modernization efforts and aligns with national objectives to expand domestic defense manufacturing and support infrastructure.
