Aselsan has completed the first live air-to-surface firing of its indigenous Tolun precision-guided munition from a Turkish Air Force F-16, expanding the weapon’s operational envelope beyond unmanned platforms. The test validated navigation, guidance, and penetration performance against fortified targets. Developed to reduce reliance on foreign munitions, Tolun features a high-penetration warhead designed for hardened structures. The successful integration with manned aircraft marks a major step toward full-scale deployment across Türkiye’s fighter fleet.
