Indian defense technology company Tonbo Imaging has introduced its new jet-powered loitering munition called SharkJet at the North Tech Symposium 2026 in Prayagraj. Designed as a high-speed autonomous strike platform, SharkJet is intended for precision attacks against high-value and time-sensitive targets in contested battlefield environments. Unlike conventional propeller-driven kamikaze drones, the platform uses turbojet propulsion to achieve significantly faster ingress speeds and rapid terminal attack capability, reducing enemy reaction time and improving survivability during deep-strike operations. Tonbo stated that the system is intended for precision strike, suppression of enemy air defense, counter-radar, maritime targeting, and deep interdiction missions across multiple operational domains.
