The US Marine Corps is continuing its investment in autonomous mine countermeasure technologies by expanding the deployment of Greensea IQ’s Bayonet 250 unmanned underwater vehicle. Engineered for operations across submerged coastal environments, the system is capable of conducting autonomous surveys, explosive threat detection, target reacquisition, and underwater reconnaissance from deep water to beach landing zones. Utilizing advanced navigation algorithms and open-system mission software, the platform enables safe and efficient operations in hazardous environments where conventional diver-based missions would present elevated risks. As part of the Littoral Explosive Ordnance Neutralization (LEON) program, the expanded fleet supports expeditionary operations by improving route clearance, amphibious assault preparation, and force protection while reducing operational exposure for Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams.
