Hyundai Rotem has become the first South Korean defence manufacturer to receive NATO’s Allied Quality Assurance Publications AQAP-2110 certification for its armored vehicle production processes. The certification confirms that the company’s K2 main battle tank, armored recovery vehicle, and combat engineering platforms satisfy NATO quality management standards covering design, manufacturing, inspection, and production procedures. Achievement of AQAP certification significantly strengthens Hyundai Rotem’s eligibility to compete for future procurement opportunities across NATO member states while reinforcing confidence in the reliability and consistency of its defence manufacturing capabilities. The recognition also supports South Korea’s broader defence export strategy across Europe, where demand for interoperable, rapidly deliverable military equipment continues to grow. Building on major contracts such as Poland’s acquisition of K2 tanks, the certification further enhances the global competitiveness of South Korean defence products while encouraging deeper industrial cooperation with European partners.
