South Korean IT firm LG CNS has won two contracts from the Defense Information Agency to modernize the country’s military communication networks and facility management systems. The first project will integrate the networks of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Joint Chiefs of Staff into a standardized environment, improving data flow and operational coordination. Using software-defined networking, the system will enable centralized control, enhanced cybersecurity, and real-time threat detection through AI-based monitoring. The second initiative focuses on upgrading the defense facility management system by integrating multiple government platforms and linking administrative, financial, operational, and geospatial data. This unified system will allow comprehensive oversight of planning, construction, maintenance, and national property management through a single interface, significantly improving efficiency and transparency.
