Finnish defense company Patria has unveiled a new passive radar solution capable of tracking up to 500 incoming projectiles simultaneously without emitting detectable signals. The system leverages Passive Coherent Location technology and relies on digital television broadcasts for illumination, allowing continuous surveillance while minimizing the risk of enemy detection. Offering more than 100 degrees of azimuth coverage, the radar is designed to monitor artillery rounds, rockets, and other airborne threats in real time. The capability enhances force protection by providing early warning and target tracking without revealing the system’s own location.
