HENSOLDT UK has secured two contracts with SRT Marine Systems to deliver 50 advanced coastal surveillance radar systems, strengthening maritime domain awareness for national monitoring networks. The radars will form part of integrated surveillance infrastructure designed to enhance detection, tracking, and situational awareness across busy and sensitive maritime regions. Built on HENSOLDT’s Coherent Shore-Based Sensor architecture, the systems are optimized for continuous operation in challenging coastal environments where sea clutter, adverse weather, and dense maritime traffic complicate detection. At the core of the solution is the SharpEye radar technology, a solid-state transceiver that delivers high reliability, long-range performance, and reduced maintenance requirements compared to conventional radar systems. SharpEye is specifically engineered to detect small or low radar cross-section targets, such as fast-moving boats, making it highly effective for coastal security, harbor protection, and naval operations. The technology has already been deployed across multiple global programs, including UK maritime security upgrades and Southeast Asian naval applications. The new contracts reinforce HENSOLDT’s position in maritime surveillance and highlight growing global demand for advanced coastal monitoring solutions amid rising security challenges.
