Australian defense firm Electro Optic Systems has entered into an agreement to acquire Europe-based MARSS Group, including its NiDAR command-and-control technology for counter-drone operations. The acquisition will allow EOS to combine its sensors and weapon systems with MARSS’ C2 software, creating integrated counter-drone solutions covering detection, identification, decision-making, and defeat. NiDAR acts as a central node that links sensors, effectors, and unmanned systems, coordinating responses through a single interface. EOS plans to integrate NiDAR into its remote weapon systems, enabling mesh-networked, fleet-wide drone defense. The deal expands EOS’s geographic footprint and strengthens its position as a prime contractor for large-scale military and critical infrastructure protection programs.
