Raytheon has signed a $536-million contract with the U.S. Navy for the deployment and support of SPY-6 radar technology across the fleet. The contract provides for training, installation, software enhancements, and technical assistance.
The work outlined in the agreement is scheduled to continue until 2026 and is part of a long-term effort to bolster the Navy’s sensor and radar infrastructure.
With systems already live on two naval vessels and installations in progress for three more, the Navy aims to field SPY-6 radars on more than 60 ships over the next 10 years to expand its maritime surveillance and threat-tracking capabilities.
