The US Navy has awarded Raytheon a $646-million contract for four additional SPY-6(V) radar systems.
The cumulative procurement now includes 42 radar units, with final deliveries anticipated by 2028. These radars offer comprehensive threat detection across 360 degrees, addressing cruise missiles, aircraft, naval threats, and cyber-electronic interference.
All radars are built at Raytheon’s advanced production hub in Andover, MA, which spans 30,000 square feet and handles multiple radar platforms.
The facility uses cutting-edge automation and allows for continuous, real-time integration and performance testing.
In a separate deal earlier this month, the Navy committed an additional $536 million for SPY-6 radar purchases.
