On the opening day of the Paris Air Show, Safran Electronics & Defense announced a new global partnership with Trillium Engineering, a U.S.-based leader in compact, high-performance electro-optical systems (EOS). This collaboration will extend Safran’s Artis range by incorporating Trillium’s line of stabilized camera turrets ranging from 2 to 25 inches. Trillium’s smaller, lightweight systems perfectly complement Safran’s established expertise in large gyrostabilized gimbals, particularly for deployment on drones, light aircraft, and helicopters.
Both companies are known for their ability to develop smaller, lighter, and energy-efficient solutions—qualities that are essential for modern aerial platforms. These capabilities significantly boost operational flexibility and mission success.
Trillium Engineering specializes in high-performance, lightweight electro-optical and infrared gimbals designed for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and other airborne platforms. Their technologies include high-definition EO/IR sensors, laser designation, and advanced geolocation, all of which are critical for enhancing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.
This strategic partnership highlights both companies’ shared commitment to providing cutting-edge technologies tailored to the evolving needs of defense and security customers worldwide.
