Saab has secured a contract from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to deliver Giraffe 4A radar systems along with related services to the Swedish Armed Forces. Valued at around SEK 1.4 billion, the deliveries are scheduled for 2026 to 2027.
The Giraffe 4A will enhance Sweden’s ground-based air surveillance capabilities with a mobile, modern sensor platform that supports software-based upgrades.
This multifunctional radar system provides various capabilities, including the ability to detect and track numerous targets simultaneously, making it ideal for air and maritime surveillance as well as military air traffic control.
