LG Electronics and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) have signed an MoU to jointly develop next-generation flight simulator displays using LG’s Magnit micro-LED technology. The system features a curved 3.9-meter-wide screen, designed to improve realism, depth perception, and situational awareness during simulations. Micro-LED panels offer enhanced brightness, lower latency, durability, and energy efficiency, while KAI expects reduced maintenance costs. The project aligns with South Korea’s focus on networked, immersive simulators replicating combat conditions. KAI has integrated simulation programs for its KF-21 Boramae fighter and T-50 Golden Eagle trainer, and the Republic of Korea Navy has deployed a virtual-bridge simulator for realistic navigation and multi-vessel coordination.
