German defense company HENSOLDT has introduced SkyBarrier, a mobile electronic warfare system developed to disrupt major global satellite navigation networks. The jammer is designed to protect military units and critical infrastructure from threats that depend on satellite-based positioning and navigation. According to the company, the platform can interfere with signals from GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou constellations. By denying access to navigation data, SkyBarrier aims to reduce the effectiveness of drones, guided weapons, and other systems that rely heavily on satellite guidance in contested operational environments.
