Data Patterns has unveiled the Hawk-1900, an indigenous Gallium Nitride (GaN)-based Active Electronically Scanned Array radar designed for fighter aircraft upgrades and future combat aviation requirements. The compact radar system incorporates around 876 Transmit/Receive Modules and has been developed for platforms such as the MiG-29 family and LCA Tejas Mk1/Mk1A. The radar provides a potential modernisation pathway for the Indian Air Force’s MiG-29UPG fleet by replacing ageing radar systems with an advanced indigenous solution. The Hawk-1900 is designed to improve target detection, multi-object tracking, electronic warfare resistance, and overall mission effectiveness. Equipped with advanced signal-processing capabilities and a swashplate mechanism for wider scanning coverage, the radar supports air-to-air and air-to-ground operations. Its multi-function fire-control architecture enables simultaneous tracking and engagement of multiple targets while maintaining performance in electronically contested environments. The system represents a significant advancement in India’s ability to develop scalable AESA radar solutions for different aircraft categories.
