The Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force is partnering with Collins Aerospace to open a new avionics service center that will enhance sustainment for European F-35 and CH-47F aircraft. The government-owned, contractor-operated facility will begin initial operations in 2026 and will provide repair services, maintenance, and supply chain management. Positioned at the RNLASF Air Support Command base, the center will draw on Collins’ global expertise and complement existing Dutch sustainment hubs such as the Soesterberg F-35 readiness center and the F135 engine depot. The initiative will accelerate avionics repair cycles, improve operational readiness, and support modernization efforts across the Dutch fleet. Recent advancements include upgraded NH90 helicopter avionics by Thales Nederland and expanded diagnostic capabilities for the F-35. The Netherlands has also participated in multinational exercises to enhance NATO interoperability in areas like sensor fusion, secure networked avionics, and electronic warfare.
