India has strengthened its maritime security capabilities with the commissioning of the indigenous Fast Patrol Vessel ICGS Akshay. Built by Goa Shipyard Limited, the vessel supports the country’s growing focus on self-reliant defence production and modern naval capability. Designed for coastal surveillance, search and rescue, law enforcement, and environmental protection, the new patrol vessel will enhance the Indian Coast Guard’s ability to respond rapidly to a wide range of maritime challenges.
