The United States Navy has unveiled a sweeping 30-year “Golden Fleet” modernization strategy designed to expand the fleet beyond 450 vessels during the early 2030s while revitalizing America’s maritime industrial base. The roadmap includes major investments in destroyers, submarines, aircraft carriers, amphibious ships, logistics vessels, and unmanned systems. Officials also outlined reforms focused on distributed shipbuilding, stricter acquisition oversight, and AI-enabled planning tools intended to reduce delays, control costs, and improve fleet readiness in response to growing global security challenges.
