Swedish defense company Saab and Poland’s PGZ have agreed to deepen cooperation across multiple naval defense sectors, including submarines, underwater technologies, and autonomous maritime systems. The partnership outlines plans for expanded lifecycle support services, industrial integration, and joint export opportunities involving both surface ships and underwater platforms. Saab and PGZ also intend to collaborate on advanced underwater technologies such as heavyweight torpedoes and autonomous ocean drones, while discussions are underway regarding the establishment of a dedicated Underwater Technology Centre in Poland. The agreement strengthens Poland’s broader naval modernization efforts and follows earlier cooperation initiatives related to submarine maintenance and support under the Orka program. It also reflects PGZ’s increasing role in European defense collaboration as Poland continues expanding its industrial and military capabilities.
