The French shipbuilder CMN NAVAL has partnered with the UAE defense manufacturer EDGE Group to form a joint venture for the production of naval ships. AD NAVAL, which has its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, will take advantage of pre-existing orders worth 7 billion euros ($7.5 billion) for “small to mid-size” naval platforms, such as corvettes, offshore patrol vehicles, high-speed interceptors, trimarans, and landing craft. The partnership will also look into the integration of EDGE’s cutting-edge autonomous air and sea systems, smart weapons, radar, and cyber solutions into ships that AD NAVAL has designed for non-NATO naval forces.
