GE Aerospace’s LM2500 engines have been picked by the Indian Navy for their future missile vessel fleet.

GE Aerospace announced on October 17, 2024, that its high-performance engines will be assembled and tested by HAL in Bangalore, reflecting a long-term partnership since 1986. The Indian-built missile vessels, featuring advanced anti-surface armaments and speeds of up to 35 knots, will rely on six LM2500 marine gas turbines, auxiliary systems, and composite enclosures from GE Aerospace.
