The US Coast Guard has awarded Offshore Service Vessels LLC a $125-million contract for a commercially available icebreaker ship to support its polar missions. Under this agreement, the Louisiana-based company will provide and reactivate its anchor-handling tug supply vessel, the MV Aiviq, along with necessary modifications, technical data, spare parts, certifications, and training. The vessel’s condition and any additional requirements will be assessed in preparation for its full operational capability upon delivery.
