In order to create the Indian Navy’s fleet of amphibious warships, India and the UK have joined forces.

For more than ten years, the Indian Navy has been trying to get amphibious combat vessels or Landing Platform Docks (LPD). With India and the UK working together to create and develop electric propulsion systems for its future LPDs, the plan is gaining momentum. The UK’s shipbuilding experience will also be used as inspiration for the designs.
