Spain’s state-owned shipbuilder Navantia and Saudi Arabia have agreed to a contract to build three additional Avante 2200 corvettes. This comes after a prior agreement for five ships of the same class, which was started in 2022 and completed in March. Under the terms of the new agreement, Spain will construct the first corvette, while Saudi Arabia will build the second and third. The deal covers logistics support, operational evaluation, combat system testing, and training for Saudi engineers.
