Australia is gifting a Guardian-class patrol boat to the Maldives to strengthen their security cooperation and help safeguard the country’s sovereign maritime zones.
The vessel is expected to patrol the Maldives’ exclusive economic zone, providing an essential tool to intercept and prevent unlawful maritime activities.
The donation includes maintenance support and advanced ocean mapping technology to help the Maldives chart underwater terrain and promote economic opportunities related to marine resources.
