BAE Systems has officially delivered the first batch of BvS10 armored all-terrain vehicles to Sweden, Germany, and the United Kingdom, marking a key milestone in one of Europe’s largest collaborative ground mobility programs. The framework agreement initially called for 423 vehicles, including 223 for Sweden, 140 for Germany, and 60 for the UK, with additional German orders later expanding the total procurement. Deliveries will continue through 2028. The BvS10 is renowned for its unique ability to maneuver across diverse and difficult terrains, including arctic, desert, swamp, mountainous, and coastal environments. Its amphibious capabilities further expand its role in operations requiring both land and water mobility. Central to its design is a modular articulated chassis, allowing rapid configuration into variants such as personnel carriers, command vehicles, ambulances, logistics transports, recovery systems, surveillance platforms, and weapon carriers. The newest version incorporates upgraded survivability features and digital connectivity for future combat systems integration. The BvS10 is already in service in Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK, and its growing adoption reflects NATO’s push for interoperability and resilience in contested environments. Sweden’s decision to integrate Saab’s Mobile Short-Range Air Defense onto the BvS10 is a prime example of how the platform can be customized for evolving threat landscapes, making it a vital asset in Europe’s broader defense modernization drive.
