Saab has secured a $22.4-million contract to provide additional Vehicle Tactical Engagement Simulation System (VTESS) base kits to the US Army under the second lot of a larger training modernization framework. The agreement forms part of a contract potentially worth up to $60.8 million over a five-year period. VTESS converts tactical and non-tactical military vehicles into realistic training assets by integrating laser detectors and engagement simulation technologies. The system records hits, misses, vehicle movements, and casualty data, enabling detailed after-action reviews and enhanced battlefield training realism.
