A new generation of vehicle vision technology has been introduced by Teledyne FLIR Defense through its integrated 360-degree situational awareness suite, which combines three high-definition sensing systems for enhanced battlefield visibility.
The solution comprises the ThermoVision Situational Awareness HD, ThermoVision Driver Vision HD, and MilSight LIRC III thermal sight.
The SA90-HD is designed to support rapid decision-making by delivering low-latency EO/IR video feeds. By blending thermal and color imagery, the system allows vehicle crews to maintain awareness and identify threats in diverse environmental conditions, including nighttime operations and reduced-visibility scenarios. Its 90-degree field of view ensures reliable close-range monitoring around the vehicle.
The DV55-HD focuses on driver awareness through a forward-facing dual-sensor configuration capable of generating high-definition imagery. Covering a 55-degree field of view, the system combines electro-optical and infrared inputs to improve visibility across a range of operational settings, from bright daylight to complete darkness.
The MilSight LIRC III adds long-range thermal observation capability with selectable viewing angles and advanced image processing features. Designed for armored and infantry fighting vehicles, it offers Ethernet connectivity, ultra-low-latency video output, and multiple electronic zoom options while maintaining a compact footprint.
Teledyne FLIR showcased the complete vision suite during Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, where it was introduced to military and commercial markets.
