Canada has approved a major expansion of its Armored Combat Support Vehicle initiative through a new production agreement with General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada, reinforcing the long-term modernization of the Canadian Army’s protected mobility fleet. The expanded program will deliver additional wheeled armored vehicles based on the LAV 6.0 architecture while supporting future technology integration, lifecycle sustainment, and fleet capability upgrades. Designed to perform a wide variety of operational tasks, the vehicles will serve as command posts, troop carriers, engineering platforms, medical evacuation vehicles, recovery assets, and electronic warfare systems. The accompanying industrial partnership also establishes a framework for accelerating future vehicle modernization while ensuring long-term domestic manufacturing and support capabilities. The expanded production program strengthens Canada’s armored force while supporting allied defense commitments through additional vehicle deliveries.
