Hensoldt has received a high three-digit-million-euro contract from GDELS to outfit the German Army’s Luchs 2 reconnaissance vehicles with advanced sensors and mission systems. The agreement runs through 2032 and includes early prototypes, a first batch of 274 vehicles, optional future orders, spare parts, documentation, training, and long-term support. The Ceretron mission system fuses optical, thermal, and SWIR sensor data and uses AI to detect, identify, and track objects in real time. It syncs with Hensoldt’s BAA IV long-range sensor and the SETAS “see-through-armor” suite for 360-degree visibility. Optional integration with MDOcore allows data sharing across all operational domains.
