Rheinmetall has signed a contract exceeding €500 million to supply Germany’s armed forces with 149 mobile medical rescue stations. The latest order forms part of a framework agreement established in December 2024 and raises Berlin’s total procurement to 165 systems, taking the program’s value beyond €600 million. Production is expected to start in early 2027, with deliveries scheduled through 2029. The contract also provides training and options for additional vehicles. Rheinmetall’s Project Solutions business will manage the program, which represents its largest contract to date. The rescue stations support Germany’s Modular Medical Facilities concept, designed to provide flexible medical infrastructure close to frontline forces and during crisis situations. A total of 112 systems will receive ballistic protection, while all platforms will provide NATO Level 1 emergency care. The expandable medical containers can be rapidly installed or dismantled by small teams and are equipped to operate independently for several days. Their modular interiors provide emergency treatment areas that can be adapted to different operational requirements.
