Sweden has signed a framework agreement worth up to 4 billion kronor with Dynamit Nobel Defence to acquire the SKORPION2 remote-controlled mine-laying system for the Swedish Armed Forces. The procurement includes an initial order covering operational equipment, training materials, and ammunition, strengthening Sweden’s ability to rapidly establish anti-tank mine barriers in support of defensive operations. Mounted on various vehicle platforms, the SKORPION2 can deploy hundreds of programmable mines across large areas within minutes, improving battlefield mobility denial and interoperability with NATO allies that have already adopted the system.
