For the Cypriot National Guard, Arquus has verified an agreement to provide Sherpa station wagon vehicles fitted with Akeron missile launchers. Twelve of the French-made vehicles, each equipped with a weapon system capable of launching MBDA’s exclusive warhead, are included in the project, which was unveiled in Athens. The news follows a September 2022 trial in Cyprus that assessed the firepower of an Akeron-armed Sherpa against targets at 2,500 to 3,000 meters (8,202 to 9,843 feet) in both autonomous and collaborative settings.
