The South Korean government announced that it is nearing the conclusion of a major tank export agreement with Poland, centered around the advanced K2 tank system.

This forthcoming deal is linked to the countries’ existing $13.7 billion military contract signed in 2022, which saw Poland acquire Korean-built tanks and aircraft to enhance its defense posture.

According to a South Korean defense official, both sides are committed to finalizing the agreement soon, although the financial terms remain confidential.

Once finalized, it will be South Korea’s most substantial military export deal involving a single type of weapon.

The Yonhap agency estimated the value at roughly $6 billion, split between Korean manufacturer Hyundai Rotem and Polish defense producers.
