Israel’s Ministry of Defense has signed a contract with US-based AM General to acquire hundreds of Humvees and spare parts, funded by $150 million in American military aid. These vehicles will replenish the Israeli Ground Forces after nearly two years of operations in Gaza and prepare for future scenarios. The new Humvees are tailored for Israeli Defense Forces to transport more than ten soldiers, support casualty evacuation, and offer improved firepower. Although still widely used, Humvees are gradually being replaced by JLTVs; Israel previously purchased 75 JLTVs in 2023 and ordered additional units in late 2024 via both foreign military and direct commercial sales.
