Saab has won a contract from BAE Systems Hägglunds to deliver its Universal Tank and Anti-Aircraft System (UTAAS) fire-control and sighting solution for CV90 armored vehicles, with deliveries planned for 2029–2030. Valued at roughly SEK 314 million, the agreement reinforces UTAAS as a core subsystem for CV90 fleets across Europe. The system provides high-precision engagement against ground targets while also enabling effective tracking and engagement of helicopters and low-flying aircraft. Its modular architecture allows scalability and future upgrades, while a shared optical aperture ensures stability without recalibration. Independent line-of-sight tracking enables continuous target lock while the fire-control computer automatically adjusts firing solutions, even during vehicle movement.
