Germany has formalized a large-scale expansion of its Puma IFV fleet through a revised contract with PSM, covering 200 vehicles with deliveries from mid-2028. The €4.2 billion procurement integrates vehicle production with sustainment equipment and future upgrades, ensuring relevance against emerging threats. Planned S2 enhancements will modernize the platform, including counter-UAS features, positioning the Puma program as a rolling capability upgrade rather than a one-time purchase.
