Patria and KNDS Deutschland Maintenance have agreed to assemble and integrate Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers in Germany under the Common Armoured Vehicle System program. The agreement follows two contracts awarded to Patria by the German Armed Forces in December 2025, with serial deliveries expected to increase from early 2027 as production gradually shifts to German facilities. KNDS will manage vehicle assembly and final integration, while Patria will transfer the technical expertise required for domestic manufacturing. The arrangement forms part of Germany’s effort to establish a broader local production network involving multiple suppliers. The CAVS program, launched by Finland and Latvia in 2020, provides participating countries with a common 6×6 platform that can be adapted to national requirements. Patria vehicles have already been delivered to several European operators, including Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Denmark, and Germany. Norway and the UK also participate in the program. The German agreement strengthens industrial cooperation around armored vehicle production while supporting wider European efforts to expand joint defense manufacturing.
