The US Air Force has awarded Boeing a contract to modernize the C-17A Globemaster III flight deck, replacing aging avionics with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA)-based systems to improve adaptability and long-term sustainment. The upgrade covers design, integration, and certification of mission-critical components, with Curtiss-Wright selected to provide new mission computers. The effort supports plans to operate the 200+ aircraft fleet through 2070 while studies begin for a future Next Generation Airlift platform.
