Belgium is set to strengthen the strike capability of its future F-35 fighter fleet after the US approved a potential $236-million sale of Joint Strike Missiles. The package includes missiles, spare parts, training equipment, testing systems, and logistical support, with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and RTX serving as principal contractors. The stealth-compatible missile is designed for anti-ship and land-attack operations in heavily defended environments and can strike targets at ranges exceeding 350 kilometers. Washington said the sale would support Belgium’s contribution to NATO collective defense missions.
