The United States has authorized a potential military sale of 12 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters to Austria in a package valued at $1.5 billion. The proposal includes aircraft, associated equipment, and support services aimed at strengthening Austria’s defense posture and improving interoperability with allied militaries. US officials noted that the deal would enhance Vienna’s ability to participate in coalition operations and respond to evolving regional security challenges. The proposal now awaits congressional review before final approval.
