Seeking to strengthen its air combat capabilities, Brazil intends to purchase 20 more Gripen fighter jets from Saab, increasing the size of its existing fleet. Swedish officials confirmed the signing of a declaration of intent supporting the expansion, with local manufacturing playing a key role in the program. The initiative follows the rollout of the first Brazilian-built Gripen aircraft earlier this year and reinforces long-term industrial cooperation between the two countries. Additionally, Brazil and Sweden have agreed to establish a specialized center focused on aircraft operation, maintenance, modernization, and future technology development for the Gripen platform.
