Edgewing has secured a £4.6 billion contract to advance development of the Global Combat Air Programme’s sixth-generation fighter, reinforcing progress on the multinational aircraft scheduled to enter service by 2035. The agreement covers completion of the advanced concept phase and continued detailed design activities for the UK, Italy, and Japan’s next-generation combat aircraft. The program integrates digital engineering, artificial intelligence, and advanced stealth technologies to replace existing fighter fleets while laying the foundation for future air combat capabilities.
