Textron Aviation Defense has secured a contract exceeding $150 million to provide maintenance and program support for the T-6 Texan II fleet used by US military branches. The agreement extends a 2021 contract and increases its total value to $510 million. It covers multiple variants, including T-6A, T-6B, and T-6D aircraft, and includes engineering, repairs, and system upgrades. The Texan II, derived from the Pilatus PC-9, serves as a primary training platform for pilots. With approximately 1,000 units in service globally, the aircraft has accumulated over 5 million flight hours. The contract ensures continued readiness and modernization of training capabilities across US forces.
