India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) MkII is being developed as a 5.5-generation stealth fighter featuring an AI-powered Electronic Pilot (E-Pilot) system to enhance combat effectiveness and reduce pilot workload. The digital assistant will support sensor fusion, threat analysis, target prioritization, and mission management while integrating data from advanced radar, infrared sensors, and electronic warfare systems into a unified tactical picture. Designed as a network-centric platform, the aircraft will seamlessly exchange information with military assets across multiple domains and is expected to operate alongside autonomous Loyal Wingman drones. Although the program remains fully indigenous, India’s expanding defense partnership with France could accelerate cooperation in artificial intelligence, advanced avionics, secure data links, and collaborative combat technologies.
