The US Air Force has awarded StandardAero a $343 million contract to provide depot-level maintenance for Rolls-Royce T56 engines powering the Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules fleet. The agreement covers repair and overhaul work on engines, modules, and components across multiple configurations. The support will benefit more than 1,200 C-130 aircraft operated by US forces and 29 foreign military sales partners. The 10-year contract will be coordinated with the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, while StandardAero will conduct primary work in San Antonio, Texas. Turbopower and Segers Aero Corp. also received positions under the competitive contract, supporting activities from facilities in Florida, Alabama, and Canada. The T56 engine has powered the C-130 for decades and is also used on aircraft including the P-3 Orion and E-2 Hawkeye. More than 18,000 T56 engines have been manufactured and the platform has accumulated over 230 million flight hours worldwide.
